Trader Joe’s recalls Chicken, Lentil & Caramelized Onion Pilaf frozen meal

Product could contain a “foreign material,” retailer says

Trader Joe’s is involved in another product recall that involves “foreign material,” according to a statement from the retailer.

The retailer’s Chicken, Lentil & Caramelized Onion Pilaf was recalled on Feb. 2 just a couple of weeks after the frozen food product made its Trader Joe’s debut.

The heat-and-serve product features basmati rice, green lentils, diced caramelized onions, dark meat chicken, golden raisins, and dates.

Trader Joe’s did not reveal what type of foreign matter was discovered, but said shoppers need to discard the product immediately or return it to a store for a full refund.

The retailer had a series of recalls last summer due to metal, rocks, and insects being discovered in its products.
