MAULDIN, S.C. — Bi-Lo is laying off 130 employees from its offices here, according to local reports.
The cuts are set to begin April 17, according to GSA Business, a local journal for the Greenville-Spartanburg area. The newspaper reported on its website that Bi-Lo has not disclosed what positions were eliminated. It said workers will have the opportunity to apply at for positions in Florida, where parent company Winn-Dixie Stores operates out Jacksonville.
A spokesperson for Winn-Dixie was not immediately available.
The moves follow the recent appointment of Anthea Jones as president of Bi-Lo and other executive changes, after the chain merged with Winn-Dixie last year and saw many of its headquarters functions shift to Jacksonville.
