Some 78% of parents believe in the importance of passing down the holiday traditions they grew up with to their own children and evidently those traditions start with gift giving to their kids, according to a new survey of 2,000 American parents conducted by OnePoll on behalf of BJ’s Wholesale Club.
The annual holiday study found that most parents (73%) consider the tradition of giving gifts to their kids as an essential part of their holiday celebrations.
When it comes to time spent, 60% said they collectively spend the most time on shopping for groceries and cooking and baking items. From feasting on turkey to savoring cakes and casseroles during holiday celebrations, BJ's recognizes the significance of sharing meals and making memories.

Survey methodology
This random double-opt-in survey of 2,000 American parents who celebrate a winter holiday was commissioned by BJ’s Wholesale Club between October 13 and October 17, 2023. It was conducted by market research company OnePoll, whose team members are members of the Market Research Society and have corporate membership to the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR).
