C&S Grocers

C&S Grocers (or C&S Wholesale Grocers) is a grocery wholesale and distribution with over 50 centers across the U.S. The Keene, New Hampshire-based brand was actually founded in 1918 in Worcester, Massachusetts by Israel Cohen and Abraham Siegel (the c and s in the name, respectively).

The distribution center didn’t see large-scale growth until it began serving the supermarket chain Big D in 1958. A few years later, in the 1970’s, C&S Grocers moved into aa 300,000 square-foot distribution center in Vermont and began to serve bigger chains including A&P.

After entering an agreement with warehouse company BI-LO in 2013, C&S Grocers began serving all 480+ locations of the Winn-Dixie supermarket chain. In 2014, C&S entered into an asset purchase agreement with Associated Wholesalers Inc (AWI) where they acquired all of their assets.

Currently, C&S Grocers has distribution centers in 16 states.
