Murphy Oil to Add 200 Wal-Mart Gas Stations

EL DORADO, Ark. — Murphy Oil Corp. here said it has reached an agreement with Wal-Mart Stores allowing it to build more than 200 fuel stations at Wal-Mart Supercenters in the Midwest and Southeast.

Murphy Oil, which is spinning off its U.S. retail business as a stand-alone entity, has had a long relationship with Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart. It operates more than 1,000 locations, branded Murphy USA, on Wal-Mart sites and more than 100 freestanding locations under the Murphy Express banner.

Construction on the 200-plus sites under the new agreement with Wal-Mart would take place during the next three years.
