MILWAUKEE — Roundy’s here said it has named longtime industry veteran Gregory P. Josefowicz to its board of directors.
Josefowicz is a former chief executive officer of Jewel-Osco when it was owned by American Stores, and he became president of Albertsons’ Midwest division after that company’s merger with American Stores. He later was CEO of bookstore/media chain Borders Group from 1999 to 2006.
He has been a director on several companies’ boards, including those of Winn-Dixie Stores, from December 2006 to March 2012, and Spartan Stores, from 1999 to July 2006.
“We are excited to have Greg join the board and welcome his in-depth experience and perspective on the food retail industry,” said Robert Mariano, Roundy’s chairman, president and CEO.
Roundy’s, which operates the Pic ’n Save, Copps, Metro Market, Rainbow and Mariano’s Fresh Market banners in the Midwest, began trading as a public company in February.
