H-E-B has opened a restaurant whose menu was designed by chef Randy Evans, the company’s just-named director of restaurants.
Located next to the Schertz H-E-B Plus store in San Antonio, “3 Double-O Nine" Restaurant and Bar” serves Texas-style Brisket that's slow-smoked in-house for 13 hours; Korean fried chicken, Creole entrees, brunch and more, according to the retailer's Facebook page.
It also carries Texas craft beer and more than 70 different spirits.

The restaurant opened April 17.
Named after the exit number that a driver would take on San Antonio’s Farm to Market road to get to the restaurant, 3 Double-O Nine is H-E-B’s second restaurant in San Antonio and third chainwide. H-E-B plans to operate six such concepts by end of 2016, according to a report.
Evans formerly ran Haven, Houston's first green-certified restaurant, which closed last summer. He served as a consultant to H-E-B prior to officially joining the company, according to a report.
